People, not machines, index the database using keywords describing who, what and where the funding is intended for. Entries are updated on an ongoing basis, and if guidelines and application forms are online, link directly to them.
Whether you're looking for overseas scholarships, grants for a community play group or for medical research, anywhere in Australia, you're likely to find something suitable because all types of funding are included regardless of topic or location.
Just as no two organisations or individuals are identical, there are no
'one size fits all' grants. Instead of being trampled in the rush for the current 'Grant
of the Month', it's more effective to target programs with the closest match for what you intend to do.
When searching the grantsearch database, results show current offers as well as those currently closed, but offered on a regular basis. Also included is the percentage of previous recipients compared to total number of applicants. By focusing on the most appropriate, least competitive opportunities, your chances of success will increase.

'For those who prefer the certainty of hard copy'
Note: the online database is current, with ~70 entries updated every week
|The GrantSearch Register of Australian Funding
is a printed version of the database, last published in 2005.
While the database is dynamic and constantly updated,
the contents of the book are static and gradually become
out of date. Even so, some prefer it to online subscriptions, and continue
to find it useful long after its intended lifetime of 18 - 24 months.
A new edition is now in preparation. This is a labour-intensive
process which involves checking every detail of the entire database before going to press. It is difficult to predict how long this will take, so please be patient - responding to repeated requests for progress reports only increases the burden of work and leads to further delay.
